Diamond DA-40 NG, CS and XLS.
The Diamond DA-40 is a single engined plane that is unpressurised. It has either a 180hp engine or a 170hp diesel engine (the diesel engine is for the NG model and the 180hp Lycoming is for the XLS and CS models.) It has four leather or cloth seats depending on the model and whether you have the leather as an extra ( on the CS). It has a two screen Garmin G-1000 system with optional synthetic vision and chartview. Instead of the normal yoke, the DA-40 has a control stick in the center of the seat and also has a wrap around window canopy for better situational awareness. It has an optional extended baggage area that creates enough room for skis for four people and a bag each for the weekend. It costs around £225000 for the base price NG and can go up by 10's of thousands with extras. The aircraft flies very smoothly and very quietly, it cruises at around 150kts with a fuel burn of around 6/7 gph, however with the optional powerflow tuned exhaust you can get even better cruise speeds and climb rates. It has a standard range of around 700nm.
