The Diamond DA-50 is a piston single engine aircraft that has been developed and built by Diamond Aircraft. It is available with either the Continental TSIOF-550J engine that runs on AVGAS 100LL or the Austro AE300 engine that runs on JET A1 fuel. The DA-50 with the Continental engine is called the SuperStar and the Austro engined version is called the Magnum. The Superstar version costs several hundred thousands more than the Magnum as it is 50kts + quicker, it is pressurized, it has a 3 screen G-1000 system instead of the 2 screen in the Magnum, It has 5 seats instead of 4 and it also has entertainment systems in the back. Both aircraft have the FADEC systm that reduces the pilots work load aswell as the tried and trusted Garmin G-1000 glass cockpit suite. The magnums interior is usually leather and carbon fibre, whereas the Superstar has leather and wood interior. However, due to the 'bells and whistles' already being on the planes, there arent many optional extras for them (especially on the superstar). Below are two pictures of the DA-50 cockpits, with the top one being the superstar and the bottom one being the magnum. Try and see if you can understand the price difference, I can.
